ati x700 pci express drivers wont load

I have an ATI X800 AGP card that windows beta 2 laughs at and refuses to load any drivers for it accept generic stuff with a refresh rate of -10 at least :-P So I removed it and put in my PCI Express x700. the refresh rate is much imprived but the genuin ati drivers dont seem to take hold. They install ok and the control panel runs but vista dont use them.
Also the openGL dont install with them (maybe I am wrong but normaly it installs with drivers...)
Any advise welcome please.
